Purpose
The mission of the Nordics Strategic Communications & Public Affairs work team is to enable Bayer's outcomes through strategic, integrated communications that support achievement of goals related to business objectives, reputation, employee and community engagement.
The Strategic Integrated Communications Manager reports to the Head of Communications for North & Eastern Europe and works very closely with the Nordics Comms & PASS work team, Comms colleagues from other markets – the North & East Europe cluster in particular – and Comms colleagues with a global scope.
The individual will support the development of clear, compelling, creative content that informs, inspires, and mobilizes key stakeholders and customers to achieve the company’s strategic goals.
Scope: Scandinavia with focus on Sweden and work to be done on key business priorities beyond country borders and for all Nordics countries following Dynamic Shared Ownership (DSO) approach of flexible resource allocation and a skill-based talent pool.
Location: Stockholm preferred/ other locations in Scandinavia possible
The primary responsibilities are to:
Lead & execute integrated strategic comms for Nordic countries (DK, NO, FI, SWE) with a focus on Sweden across divisions by identifying, developing and aligning content that informs, inspires, and mobilizes key stakeholders and customers to achieve business critical goals.
Develop and execute effective proactive and reactive media relations incl. issues, public relations
Develop and execute holistic editorial content planning and amplification strategy across all Nordic channels (external & internal) leveraging global guidance and resources following a smart balance of owned, earned and paid content.
Assist in leading and scaling the adoption of Artificial Intelligence best practices across the regional and Global communications organization, such as integrating AI assistants, deeper audience and environment understanding and higher-quality and more creative communications to amplify reach.
Represent Nordics in the cluster newsroom team and social media squad to ensure Nordics media and content are adequately represented in Bayer’s global media outreach and content amplification strategy.
Maintain and optimize social media channels, conducting regular channel and technology stack audits to ensure all channels are kept up to date and secure. Constantly test and integrate AI-based technologies for more automated engagement (e.g. chatbots)
Set KPIs for channel and content metrics to develop a high-performing digital communications environment, regularly reporting and sharing insights both from owned channels but also implementing best practices for the new communications stakeholder: Large Language Models.
Create with customers: Create interesting and engaging ways to motivate and inspire customers, patients, consumers and farmers as part of unlocking business growth potential.
As a core member of the Nordics Comms and PASS work team collaborate with other members in key message development and storytelling on core topics.

Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism or Business Administration and 5+ plus years’ experience in leading and implementing successful strategic communications programs and operations, preferably within the health care and/or agriculture industries.
Fluency in Swedish and at least one other Scandinavian language (Danish preferred), English is a must
Solid business insight and experienced at translating business goals into proactive communications strategies to drive results.
Ability to produce clear, compelling, creative, motivating content and effectively and succinctly communicate complex concepts in a variety of formats.
Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive editorial content strategy that aligns with organizational goals and enhances brand reputation.
Strong understanding of digital communication tools, platforms, and best practices, including social media and content management systems.
Capability to analyze content performance metrics and audience engagement to inform strategy adjustments and optimize content effectiveness
Ability to translate communications outcomes into prioritized AI use cases
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects with a sense of urgency; thrives in a fast-paced environment
Understanding and/or passion to learn generative/agentic AI architectures and how they can be leveraged to enhance communications outcomes and efficiencies.
Strong interpersonal communication, teamwork, collaboration skills; instills trust and builds trustful relationships.
Ability to work well with diverse cultures and colleagues.
